Every week at our Leo Coffeehouse (Sept – May) there are jams that you can be part of. All are welcome to all jams. Summer Acoustic Jam (June – August) is every Sunday at Sharon Woods.
Weekly: Open Jam (5:30 – 6:45) Founders Hall (downstairs) and (7:00 – 9:00) upstairs . Anything goes in this song circle. Participants bring songs to lead in the circle, while the rest provide backup and harmony, and an occasional lead. This jam continues upstairs during the concert for those who just can’t get enough jammin’!
First Sunday of the month: Ukulele jam (5:30 – 6:45) Bring your favorite ukulele chord and lyrics sheets to share with others (~10 copies). Also bring questions and/or playing tips. Play a little…learn a little. All levels are welcome. And don’t forget your ukulele!
Second Sunday: Songwriter’s Collaborative (workshop rather than jam, 5:30 – 6:45) All are welcome. Upstairs room TBD. For info: Songwriter’s Collaborative
Third Sunday: Sing-Along (3:00 – 5:00) Join us for two hours of singing favorites from Rise Up Singing and Rise Again songbooks. Bring your own books or use one of ours. Have a favorite song that is not in the book? Bring copies with you for the group. No musical instrument required. Everyone welcome–tell your friends and bring the kids! Founder’s Hall (downstairs).
Third Sunday: Guitar Roundtable (5:30 – 7:00) Herbster Hall (upstairs). Tired of the same old chords? Want to spice up your playing, add new colors to your musical paintbox? Curious about how other players see and navigate the fretboard? Here’s an hour for curious players (of any skill level) to help and learn from one another. Enrich your experience of this excellent instrument. Bring a question, share a tip. Learn a new lick or chord, take it out for a test drive. Gain a new perspective, share your own with us. Though we’ll all learn, this isn’t exactly a class, but a forum to exchange ideas so that we can all make more and better music. Tune up and join us!
Fourth Sunday: Old Time Country Jam (5:30 – 6:45) Come join us in playing early roots country and related music, such as Jimmy Rogers, Bob WIlls, Patsy Cline, Delmore Brothers, and The Carter Family. The jam will include songs from the early 1900’s through the Folk Revival of the mid 1960’s.
Summer Outdoor Acoustic Jams at Sharon Woods (5:30 – dusk) After Leo Coffeehouse closes for the season, continue to jam outdoors at Sharon Woods from June through August. Look for us at some picnic table near the Sharon Centre – enter from Route 42. (We are not near the boat house). You will need a Hamilton County Park Sticker ($3 per day or $10 per year – purchase when you arrive).
